First Race - Action | Video
Action:
[It was the sound of birds that woke Asami up, not an unusual sound, but not one she heard terribly often in her room at the Sato Mansion either. On the Air Temple Island though they were probably quite normal, she thought to herself as she shifted a bit, pressing her fingers into the grass under her hands and-
[What?]
[Her eyes opened with a start and she sat up, frowning at...the forest around her. Trees, and in the distance the sound of what might be people... The birds had all gone still at the sudden motion, but as she sat there, they began to chirp and tweet again, and the sound seemed to draw Asami from her shock. Where was she? How did she get here and what was she wearing?!]
[She plucked at the front of the white cotton sundress...not exactly terrible but not her style in any way, and a quick search of the area around her revealed her own clothing sitting in a pile on the ground nearby. Someone had undressed her, dressed her in this dress, dumped her in the woods of what looked like the earth kingdom and then...left her clothing for her? Because that made sense.]
[A quick search of the area revealed no one anywhere near the clearing she had woken up in, and once she was (relatively) satisfied, she scooped up her clothing and ducked behind a tree to change. But her attempt to remove the sundress had the fabric tugging on the strange, violet wings she hadn't noticed before, eliciting a startled noise of pain and surprise followed by a few minutes of examining them with her hands and what little she could see by turning her head. She had wings. What the hell was going on!?]
[A few minutes of changing and adjustment had her in her usual pants and the undershirt she typically wore beneath her coat, the back low enough that they were pressing lightly against the bottom of her wings but not enough to cause anything too uncomfortable. Except every time the fabric shifted the wings fluttered, which tickled and ached and that was...strange enough. She'd have to leave her jacket off until she found someone who could get whatever had happened to her reversed...]
[So she hung her jacket and the sundress over her arm as she started off towards the sounds she had heard.]
Video:
[It's a few hours later when she appears on the notebooks, sitting on the edge of a fountain in the town, the book resting on her knee. Someone she met has shown her the basics of it, and while she gets it, she's not really certain she actually understands it. So there is a view of her face leaning over, peering down at the page, her black hair hanging down and framing her for a moment before she...turns the notebook over suddenly, giving anyone watching a view of her pants-clad knee.]
...Is it working? Doesn't make any sense, it's just paper but...
[Her voice is muffled as she speaks to herself, and after a second the notebook flips back over and she frowns at the page again.]
I guess it is. Uhm. Hello! [She waves at the page for a moment then frowns, using her hand to brush her hair behind her ear before she forces it into her lap.] Assuming anyone can actually see this, I'm Asami Sato. I just...woke up in the woods, which apparently isn't as strange as I thought it was?
Right. Uh. Anyway.
People said I should say hello, so. That's what I'm doing. I feel kind of silly talking to a book but I suppose if it's doing what they said it would, I shouldn't...
Not that I can tell, of course.
[She picks up the book from her lap and gives it a little shake, which has her image bouncing around before she holds it a bit further away from her body, her head tilting to the side.]
...How do these work, anyway?
[ooc: Asami will be wandering around town looking at everything and trying to find a phone, so she can be most anywhere for runnings-into!]

[action]
Uh...Happy birthday, then. It's hard to even imagine. I mean, I saw you hours ago.
[Yes she's repeating herself from her surprise.]
[action]
[ He opens the door to the pizzeria for her. ]
People come from all different times and when they go home it's at the exact moment they last remember. It's crazy, but the fact that Aang and others are here is pretty solid proof.
[action]
[She follows him inside, giving a small 'thank you' before she's looking around. Well it certainly smells nice.]
So what's Pizza?
[action]
So far my favorite's been this kind called Hawaiian.
[action]
Guess I'll have to try it then. What makes it...'hawaiian?'
[She asks as she starts over to the door of the building, tugging it open.]
[action]
[ He heads over to the counter and gestures to the menu ]
Does anything sound good to you? I'd say my treat but everything's free.
[action]
I'll try whatever you're having. [She shrugs as she follows after him, peering up at the menu.] If I don't like it, I'll try something else.
[action]
...So the last thing you remember from home is being on Air Temple island?
[action]
Yeah. We all tried to get on Korra's polar bear dog, which was a complete disaster, so instead I said we should go find my car.
Then I woke up here.
[action]
[ He scratches under Pabu's chin gently and then gives his furry friend a treat from his pocket. ]
[action]
[She frowns. Everything was so murky when she left, it's hard to imagine precisely what that means.]
[action]
[ He shrugs ]
We won.
[action]
[Well, she wasn't expecting that. Not...just finding out.]
What about my father?
[action]
...Your dad is a jerk.
[action]
That doesn't tell me anything, Bolin.
[action]
He went crazy, tried to kill you because there was no saving you.
[ It drives him crazy because that's not what dads do. He can barely remember his after so long but he knows parents shouldn't ever want to hurt their children. ]
[action]
...He didn't though, right?
[action]
[action]
[After he tried to kill her.]
[She's quiet for a while, longer than she realizes, her gaze distant, staring at a point on Bolin's side of the booth without really seeing anything. Finally she sucks in a breath.]
...That's a lot to take in.
